Dear friends, before I begin with the details of Airtel Live, I wish to thank everyone at XDA-Developers for working on ROMs, fixes and the support that is being provided here. Special thanks to dsixda for producing Onyx 3.0 because of which my HTC Touch Elfin (P3452) rocks even more. Now regarding Airtel Live service: Airtel Live is free GPRS service that Airtel provides to its customer with a catch i.e. As per Airtel, you can only access for downloading latest ringtones, games, wallpapers, videos etc. If you call Airtel Customer Support to get Live on your HTC Touch, they tell you that it is not supported on any Windows Mobile phone and suggest you to go for Airtel Mobile office, full GPRS service for a monthly rental of Rs. 499 (USD 12). After googling and fighting with Airtel, I managed to get the correct settings and I am able to run Airtel Live as well access most of the websites on standard HTTP protocol (SSL is not supported). Google Maps also works for me. On Windows Mobile 6.x, the steps to configure are as follows: 1. Activate Airtel Live by sending the following SMS to 121: MASALA ACTIVE. The service takes atleast 3-4 hours to get active. Restart the phone and resume configuring. Tap Start -> Settings. Select Connections Tab and tap Connections. Select Advanced Tab, tap Select Networks button to bring up Network Management. Under 'Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using:' drop down, tap the New button. In the General Tab, type the name of the settings as Airtel Live 8. Select Modem tab, tap New. Type the name of connection as Airtel Live, select the modem as Cellular Line (GPRS) and tap Next. Type Access Point Name as airtelfun.com and tap next. Leave username, password and domain blank and tap finish. Select Proxy Settings tab. Tap 'This network connects to the Internet'. This should enable the next check box option. Tap 'This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet'. Type the proxy server as: 100.1.200.99 and then tap Advanced. Tap HTTP, leave the server as 100.1.200.99 and change the port to 8080 16. Similarly tap WAP, Secure WAP and Socks, type the server as 100.1.200.99 but leave the port to defaults. These are optional settings. Tap OK to close the Advanced proxy setup screen. Tap OK to close the New connection screen. The network management screen should now list the new connection you have created in the drop-down. Tap OK to close this screen 20. Tap OK to close the connection screen. Now you are ready to fire your favourite browser. I have tested this on PIE as well as Opera 9.5 and it works for me. If PIE reports 'Request not authorized by the WAP Gateway', you will need to change the user-agent to anything you can think of using 'Advanced Config' tool (thanks to dsixda for suggesting this). I had set it to HTCP3452_Mozilla/4.0 under Advanced Config -> Internet Explorer -> User Agent Custom Base. I think Airtel has intentionally blocked Mozilla/4.0 user-agent on WM phones. It may be that they cannot restrict Windows Mobile based phones from accessing websites on standard HTTP. On other phones I had tried, I could not get other sites to work with the same settings. Enjoy Airtel Live for free. Posted on Apr 16, 2009. Hi, Like all other devices settings cant be installed directly on the htc mobile. You wont receive any patches from the Service provider. Call your Customer care and give ur phone model. He will explan u the settings. U have to go to start --> settings --> connections and add a new connection. When I reinstalled AA7, it asked me to activate it every time I used it, then it refused my attempts to activate. I contacted Adobe in a chat. An Adobe rep gave me the following instructions, and those instructions also failed: 'Here are the steps to activate the product on your machine: Please remove/uninstall older version installed on your machine (My thought -- why?) Go to Download new version of product from that link. Download 22001904.exe. Install the downloaded version on your machine with new serial number from next to download link. Use the serial number which ends with 2468 (1016-1415-6379-6184-1333-2468). That serial number will not ask you to activate the product on your machine.' Then he wrote, 'Due to some technical glitch, Adobe has disabled the activation server for the product.' Don't know whether he was referring to my original Acrobat 7 or the product that he suggested I download. The current installation expires soon, even though I have the software CD with serial number, etc. Why in the world would you post your personal, unique serial number on a public forum? All anyone else has to do now is install Adobe Acrobat 7 and use your serial number. And since it can only be used on one single computer on the entire planet, you will not be able to use it because you allowed someone else to steal it. And once they activate their Adobe software with your serial number, the software contacts Adobe's servers and your serial number is then marked as 'in use'. Then when you, or anyone else, tries to use that same serial number again, you simply won't be able to. Hopefully a Moderator will be along soon to delete this entire thread. Edited by SpywareDoc, 09 July 2013 - 03:41 PM. Worked out my own solution. The first time that I downloaded 22001904.exe, the download split into two nonfunctional files -- one ending in '.exe.part'. So I stubbornly tried a second download of the same file. This time, the whole file downloaded in one piece as a proper application executable. After that, no problem installing. I now have a functioning Adobe Acrobat Standard 7 that doesn't nag me to activate. Yes, I know that it's an old version, but it works well, and I don't have to buy a new, overpriced product. Just wanted to chime in my two cents - this isn't meant to criticize just to be clear, only concerned, but aren't you concerned with security risks?.pdf's are by far & away one the leading instruments for the spread of malware - up there with the big boys, unpatched Java and Adobe Flash - I know that I can relate to likely older versions of software in some cases - but by and by, one of the reasons Adobe consistently updates Acrobat and Reader to patch malware related loopholes. I suppose if you're only using it to create.pdfs, and using a patched, up to date version of Reader for your web-based.pdfs you would be ok. Other than that, I see you fixed your problem, but I was thought I would through this out there too - Adobe's not so secret FTP site - it's where you can go for all of your old version Adobe needs (installation media). Church leaders want to know how to make small groups work for their church communities, yet a quick look around shows that while small groups are popular, much of the time they create more problems than they solve. Nelson Searcy and Kerrick Thomas, founding pastors of The Journey Church in the heart of New York City, suggest that this failure is due to widely held beliefs about small groups that just aren't true--and they aim to debunk the myths and set the record straight! Step #2: Account Settings • At this point, you should see an additional popup window with a place for you to add additional settings. • You will need to ensure that all the fields are completed: • Email Address is the full email address you’re setting up. • User Name also is the full email address. • Password is the email account’s password. • Account Type will be IMAP or POP, depending on your preference. For its ability to keep email in sync across multiple devices (desktop, laptop, phones and tablets), IMAP generally is recommended. • Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server • If you are using non-SSL settings, both the Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server will be your domain name: mail.yourdomainname.com (or simply yourdomainname.com). • If you are using SSL settings, both the Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server will need to be set to the server’s hostname (e.g., host.yourdomainname.com). Step #3: Security Settings • If you set up the email account with standard connection settings (mail.yourdomainname.com), or you set up the account with secure SSL settings and have an SSL certificate installed on your mailserver, you can skip this section and proceed to Step 4. However, if you’re using SSL settings (host.yourdomainname.com) and your server has a self-signed (free) SSL certificate installed on the mail server, you should see a popup notification about the server certificate: • If you receive this notification, you will need to click either the Continue button to accept the certificate and proceed, or the Show Certificate button to inspect it. Should you wish to permanently store the certificate and add it to the Keychain, you can check the Always trust box before selecting Continue. Depending on your security settings, choosing to permanently store the certificate could require you to enter your password to add it to the Keychain. Note: A self-signed certificate uses the same level of encryption as a verified certificate, except that it is you who are verifying your server’s identity, rather than a third party. However, if you would prefer to use a third-party verified SSL certificate to cover core services (cPanel/WHM, POP3, IMAP, SMTP and FTP) on your server, you can find instructions for ordering and installing an SSL certificate at, and you’ll find a guide to installing your certificate on email and other core server services. Should you find that you need any assistance, please feel free to contact a Heroic Support® technician who can assist with obtaining and installing an SSL from the vendor of your choice. Step #4: Finishing Up • Ensure that the box next to Mail is checked and then click on Done to complete the setup. • You’re now ready to begin using your email account with Mail. IOS 11 Drag and Drop versus the iOS Share Arrow Drag and Drop lets you grab a picture, a file, a URL, a snippet of text, and more, and drag it onto another app. It truly changes the way you use the iPad. For instance, my Mac is so old that it doesn’t support AirDrop, making it a pain to transfer screenshots from an iPad. With iOS 11, I keep Files and Photos in, and just drag images into a Folder that I also keep in the Dock on my Mac. Kpressor is slick, works great and looks fantastic, but it doesn’t yet do Drag and Drop. Photo: Cult of Mac. That’s where Drag and Drop shines. Another is when you’re researching something. You can keep Notes in Split View or Slide Over, and keep switching apps as you research, dragging mails, web pages and other documents into one note. Used this way, iOS is better (and way more fun) than doing the same thing on a Mac. But while Drag and Drop is excellent, I was surprised to find that I’m still using Action Extensions, aka the iOS Share Sheet, aka the Share Arrow, to do a lot of, well, sharing. For instance, in the morning I read through my RSS news, and I clip anything interesting — future how-tos, neat-looking apps — into a to-do list. Several to-do apps have recently added drag-and-drop support ( and Todoist, for example), so you can drag an item in and create a to-do. But that relies on having both apps open at once. If you’re using a regular-size iPad, you might prefer to use one app at a time, because things can get cramped on the smaller screen. In this scenario, I prefer to use the share arrow to add a task to my to-do app. For example Another example is Apple’s amazing Notes app, which when you use the share extension. Drag and Drop is good for heavy research sessions, but if you find a nice recipe on the web, which you want to add to your Recipes note, it’s quicker to use the share extension to do it. The alternative is to open up Notes in Split View, then find the Recipes note, and so on. This illustrates how flexible iOS has become in its latest version. You now have several ways to achieve any one task. Photos can now be attached to an email via Drag and Drop, by using the Photos app’s share arrow to create a new mail, or by tapping inside the body of a mail in Mail app, and picking Insert Photo or Video from the popover. And that’s how it should be. Now you can just pick whatever method works for your current situation, instead of having to think it all through before you begin. Split Screen vs. Slide Over Even last year’s big iPad Pro can’t manage to show three active windows. Photo: Cult of Mac. The other surprise in iOS 11 is how useful Slide Over has become. Slide Over always seemed like a second-class version of Split View, partly because it was flaky in iOS 10, and partly because you couldn’t use a slid-in app together with the app beneath it. Apple fixed both those problems in iOS 11, making Slide Over a useful feature in its own right. You can park a Slide Over window on the left or the right side of the screen, and if you swipe it off the screen to the right, you can quickly (an reliably) pull it back in again. This makes Slide Over great in some of my examples above. You can pull the Notes app, or your to-do app, onto the screen just to drag in a file or whatever, then dismiss it. Better still, apps which have been parked off to the right in Slide Over will stay there until replaced. So you can flip through any number of other apps (or combinations of apps in Split View), and the Slide Over app can be pulled out at any time. How Slide Over really works in iOS 11 For instance, say you have Safari in full-screen, and Notes in Slide Over. If you switch to the Mail app, then Notes will still be available in Slide Over. Now, if you switch to a space containing Notes app, then the Slide Over “slot” to the right is now empty. If you try to pull something out with a swipe, there’s nothing there. But if you then switch to another space that doesn’t contain Notes — back to Safari in full-screen, say — then the Notes app is back in the Slide Over “slot,” ready to be pulled out. This almost-permanent parking of an app in Slide Over is quite powerful. You might choose to always have reminders there, or Mail, or iMessage, or your football results app. Or the Apple News app, ready to be checked. Single app Drag and Drop iOS 11 Drag and Drop isn’t just available on the iPad. The iPhone gets many of the benefits, too. The new drag-and-drop tools in iOS 11 let developers easily add the functionality to their apps, so you can drag tasks around in a to-do list, drag chunks of text from one place to another, and interact with an app in a much more intuitive way. Previously, developers had to come up with their own workarounds to enable this (Readdle between its own apps), or rely on clunky kludges like toggling between dragging and selecting modes. Now they can just add Drag and Drop wherever it seems useful. The iPad is now better than the Mac — sometimes I’ve gone from thinking that Drag and Drop would be the remedy for everything that ailed the iPad, to loving it as just one of several great ways to get stuff done. Both Slide Over, and the old-school Share Arrow, are also more useful than ever. Partly this comes down to what seems like in iOS 11, making things like text selection and dragging much more reliable. And partly it’s because the iPad now feels like an open, full-featured computer instead of a hobbled, scaled-up iPhone. How do I Enable Cookies and Disable Cookies? ' then 'Settings'.
